What is Clan Labs?
Understand the role Clan Labs plays between your Roblox community, Discord server, staff, and integrations.
Last updatedClan Labs brings the operational records for a Roblox community into Discord and the web. It does not replace Roblox or Discord. Instead, it links identities and gives authorised staff consistent tools for work that would otherwise be spread across commands, spreadsheets, manual role changes, and separate logs.
A community-management layer
A main community connects one Roblox community to one Discord server and holds the shared settings, staff permissions, subscription, and records used by Clan Labs.
A division is another Roblox community attached under a main community. Divisions have their own member operations while inheriting billing from the main community. Creating one requires an eligible main-community plan and a division serial key.
A member is identified primarily by a Roblox account. A Discord user may verify more than one Roblox account and select which account applies to a particular Clan Labs community.
Work in Discord or on the web
The dashboard is best for setup, configuration, data tables, filters, analytics, bulk review, and account or billing controls. It is responsive, so the same workflows remain usable on a phone or tablet.
The Discord bot is best for actions that happen during normal community activity. Members can verify and update themselves. Staff can use commands or supported context-menu actions for ranks, progression, moderation, profiles, events, and other configured workflows.
Both surfaces apply the community’s permission requirements and plan availability. A staff member seeing a community does not automatically mean they can change it.
Roblox access stays scoped
Clan Labs reads public Roblox information to identify communities, roles, accounts, and membership. Operations that write to a Roblox community require a Roblox Open Cloud User API key with the groups system and both group:read and group:write scopes.
The dashboard accepts that credential once, validates it against the connected community, and never returns it to the browser. Do not share the key through Discord, screenshots, source control, or support tickets.
Records and accountability
Clan Labs records supported community actions in an audit log. Entries show what happened, who or what performed it, and relevant before-and-after details where available. API actions identify the API key used rather than exposing its secret.
Eligible Pro communities can roll back supported changes. Rollback is deliberately narrower than “undo everything”: the dashboard refuses entries that are too old, already reversed, redacted, bulk-only, legacy, or unsafe to restore automatically.
What Clan Labs does not assume
Clan Labs does not grant Discord or Roblox authority by itself. Discord role hierarchy, bot permissions, Roblox ownership or role permissions, Open Cloud scopes, community permission levels, and plan entitlements still apply.
That separation is intentional. It lets owners give staff only the access they need and makes failures diagnosable instead of silently bypassing a platform rule.
