Configure Roblox Open Cloud
Create and save the scoped Roblox credential required for Clan Labs rank and pending-join writes.
Last updatedClan Labs needs a Roblox Open Cloud User API key for supported write operations. This key is created in Roblox Creator Hub; it is not a Clan Labs API key.
Create the key
- In Clan Labs, open the community and go to Settings → Roblox Cloud.
- Choose Credential instructions and note the target Community ID.
- Open Roblox Credentials.
- Under User API Keys, choose Create API Key.
- Name it for Clan Labs and the community, such as
Clan Labs (COMMUNITY_NAME). - Under Access Permissions, add the groups API system.
- Select both
group:readandgroup:writefor the connected community. - Do not add an IP restriction.
- Set an expiry only when you can rotate the key before that date.
- Choose Save & Generate and copy the secret while Roblox displays it.
Save it once
Return to Clan Labs, paste the value into Roblox Open Cloud API key, and choose Save credential. The dashboard accepts the secret once and does not return it to the browser. It is excluded from audit metadata and application logs by design.
Verify the result
The status card changes from No Roblox Open Cloud credential is configured to Configured, with a last-validation or last-update time.
Test with a reversible, expected workflow: view pending joins or perform an authorised rank operation against a test member. Do not test by changing an owner or protected rank.
