Configure welcome messages
Send a greeting and optional image when a member joins Discord.

You must be an Owner or the Discord server owner, with welcome messages included in the community plan and the bot installed and active. Choose a text channel where the bot can view, send messages, embed links, and attach files if using an image.
Welcome messages are separate from the verification prompt.
Steps
- Open Settings → Welcome and enable the welcome message.
- Select the destination channel.
- Enter the message using the variables and formatting supported by the form.
- Add an image if needed.
- Review the light and dark previews, then save.
Keep private links and secrets out of the greeting. Avoid broad role or @everyone mentions unless needed.
Check the result
Start with the preview. If appropriate, use a test account to rejoin the server and confirm that one greeting appears, mentions resolve, and the image is readable on mobile. Recheck delivery after changing channel permissions.

| Nothing is sent | Check that Welcome and its channel are enabled and the bot is active. |
| Stored channel is unavailable | Select a current text channel the bot can access. |
| Image is missing | Check Attach Files, image validity, and the saved image setting. |
| Only verification guidance appears | Enable Welcome separately. |
