Configure events

Set Clan Labs event announcements, approved locations, completion rules, awards, and Discord mentions.

Last updated 3 September 2026

What this does

Events give staff a structured lifecycle for creating, announcing, finishing, or cancelling community activities and recording attendance. Reusable event types can carry names, mention rules, quota awards, and experience awards.

Prerequisites

  • The plan and trial state include Events.
  • Event host permissions are configured.
  • Announcement and logging channels exist and the bot can post in them.
  • Any approved Roblox locations and mention roles are known.

Setup steps

  1. Open Settings → Events.
  2. Select the announcement and operational channels shown by Clan Labs.
  3. Add curated Roblox locations that hosts may select.
  4. Configure completion or proof requirements used by your community.
  5. Add reusable event types with a clear name.
  6. Set allowed or locked Discord mentions for each type.
  7. Configure host, co-host, and attendee experience or quota awards where the form supports them.
  8. Review the custom-event fallback awards.
  9. Save the settings.

New events snapshot their event-type configuration. Editing a reusable type later does not silently rewrite an existing event’s payouts.

Expected result

Authorised hosts can create an event from the dashboard or /host create, choose approved settings, and publish a Discord announcement. The event then supports finish and cancel actions.

Verify that it works

Create a test event with a future or immediate start appropriate to your server. Confirm the announcement, type, location, and mention. Finish or cancel it, then verify the final state, attendance or awards, and audit entries.

Common errors

  • Event controls are unavailable — check plan, trial, and host requirement.
  • Announcement cannot be replaced — the original message or proof may be unavailable; use the supported fresh announcement action where offered.
  • A channel or role is missing — refresh Discord resources and select a current assignable item.
  • Awards differ from a newly edited type — the event uses the snapshot taken when it was created.

Security practices

  • Limit mention roles to audiences hosts genuinely need to notify.
  • Avoid roles with administrative privileges as event mentions.
  • Require proof where community policy needs attendance evidence.
  • Review large attendance or award changes in the audit log.

Next, follow Events and attendance.
