A Roblox rank change fails

/promote, /demote, /changerank, a suspension, dashboard action, or API v2 rank request fails or returns Error - Rank check unavailable.

1. Open the target’s public Roblox group membership and note the current rank.
2. Read the complete Clan Labs response, including whether data changed.
3. Open Settings → Roblox Cloud as Super Owner and check connection status, target Community ID, and the authorizing account's access.
4. Verify your community level and whether the current or intended destination rank is locked. Discord promote, demote, and set-rank actions require the corresponding officer-action permission at either locked boundary, defaulting to HICOM. Check locked-rank permissions for custom requirements and bypass rules.
5. Review blacklist and suspension state.
6. For API requests, confirm Pro and members.ranks.write, then inspect the status, error code, and feature details.

Correct the specific permission, restriction, rank boundary, plan, scope, or Open Cloud problem. If Clan Labs says Error - Rank check unavailable, no data was changed; restore the dependency, refresh the Roblox rank, then submit once.

For a suspension failure, follow the response’s outcome. It can state that the member stayed on the previous rank, was queued for reconciliation, or needs manual review.

For Requires reauthorization, restore the connection through the available account or reconnect action. For refresh or temporary service failures, allow recovery before retrying. Follow Roblox connection errors; rotating a working Clan Labs API key does not reconnect Roblox.

Retry only after reading Roblox’s current rank. A timed-out external write may have succeeded, so never assume failure from a missing response alone.

Contact Clan Labs support when all visible checks pass or Clan Labs reports that automatic rollback or reconciliation could not complete.

Include community ID, target Roblox user ID, old and intended rank IDs or names, interface used, exact error/status, timestamp, and whether Roblox changed. Do not send API or Open Cloud keys.
