Recommended next steps

Secure and validate a new Clan Labs community before broad staff or member rollout.

Last updated 3 September 2026

Setup creates the community shell. Complete this checklist before announcing Clan Labs to all members.

1. Secure Roblox writes

Connect Roblox Open Cloud with only group:read and group:write for the target community. Save the key in Clan Labs, then remove any temporary copy from your clipboard manager or notes.

2. Design staff permissions

Review the default requirements before assigning staff. Add people or Discord roles to Officer, Supervisor, HICOM, or Owner only when their responsibilities need that level.

The Discord server owner remains Super Owner. Do not use a broad role such as @everyone as a staff-level subject.

3. Configure verification

Choose whether Clan Labs should automatically manage verified roles and nicknames. Set a nickname format that stays under Discord’s 32-character limit after variables are replaced. Post the verification prompt to a channel members can view.

4. Configure ranks and binds

Map Roblox roles to Clan Labs ranks and the correct Discord roles. Place all managed roles below the Clan Labs bot’s highest role. Test one low-risk member before enabling automatic progression broadly.

5. Set channels and messages

Configure welcome messages, verification prompts, event announcements, audit-log delivery, and any disabled-command channels. Ensure Clan Labs can view and send messages, embed links, and attach files in each destination.

6. Test core workflows

Use a non-owner test member to verify:

  • /verify account selection;
  • /update roles and nickname;
  • a permitted experience or quota action;
  • a warning creation and view flow;
  • an event announcement, where available; and
  • the audit entry produced by each supported change.

7. Prepare integrations

If the plan includes API access, create a named API key with the Read-only preset first. Store it in a server-side secret manager and test a GET endpoint before granting write scopes.

Ready for rollout

Your initial configuration is ready when the bot can update a test member, Open Cloud shows Configured, staff permissions match responsibilities, delivery channels work, and expected audit entries appear.

Use the feature guides for daily workflows and keep the troubleshooting overview available to staff.
