Overview

Requirements

Check the accounts, ownership, Discord access, plan, and Roblox permissions needed to set up Clan Labs.

Last updated 3 September 2026

Prepare the following before starting community setup.

Accounts

You need:

  1. a Discord account that can sign in to the dashboard;
  2. access to the Discord server you want to connect;
  3. a Roblox account verified through the dashboard; and
  4. access to the Roblox community you want to manage.

The same person should complete the first setup from start to finish. If you switch Discord or Roblox accounts midway, the available server or community list may change.

Discord ownership

Only the Discord server owner can complete /setup for that server. Administrator or Manage Server permission does not substitute for ownership in the Clan Labs setup check.

The server cannot already be connected to another Clan Labs community. One Discord server binds to one community configuration at a time.

You can select the server before installing the Clan Labs bot, but Discord commands and bot-powered features remain unavailable until the bot is present. For normal operation, place the Clan Labs role above every role it must assign or remove.

Roblox ownership and permissions

The Clan Labs setup list marks communities that do not satisfy its ownership check as Owner access required. Use the verified Roblox account that owns or is eligible to configure the target community.

For write operations after setup, create a dedicated Roblox Open Cloud User API key with:

  • the target Roblox community selected;
  • the groups API system;
  • group:read; and
  • group:write.

Do not apply an IP restriction tied to your own network. Clan Labs cannot use that key from its service if Roblox limits it to your device’s address.

A plan shown as eligible

For a main community, select an active, unbound plan offered by the Clan Labs setup flow. If more than one plan is available, choose the one whose confirmed features match the community’s needs. The dashboard is the source of truth for current prices and billing schedules.

An existing subscription may be unavailable while its 30-day binding cooldown is active. The setup selector shows when it becomes eligible again.

Divisions require a compatible main community and a valid division serial key with an unused activation.

Supported browser and network

Use a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari with cookies and JavaScript enabled. Allow redirects to Discord and Roblox during sign-in and reauthentication. Content blockers that remove Discord OAuth or hosted checkout requests can interrupt setup.

The dashboard supports phone, tablet, and desktop layouts. A desktop browser is usually more comfortable for Discord role ordering, Roblox Creator Hub, and copying a one-time credential.

Never send credentials to support

Support may ask for a Community ID, Discord server ID, Roblox Community ID, API key name or prefix, request time, and error code. It should never ask for the full Roblox Open Cloud key or Clan Labs API key.

Review plans and feature availability, or begin the quick start.
